well, may as well get a early start on this.

For all of July, im going to Europe and will have noone to take care of my tanks. I have decided i'm going to board my fish and toads at a LFS.
I cant leave the heaters and HOB's running due to evaporation.

Would me tanks still be cycled if i bought a sponge filter for each tank, and let it run all June to get full of bacteria, and have straight sponge filters for July, so when i come back August first i can go and get my fish within a day. (gotta let the heaters warm up)

It won't lol. Just buy a large bag of Biospira after you get home ;)

Failing that, recycle all your tanks before getting your fish back from the LFS.

run sponge filters in the tanks the lfs is keeping your fish in then transfer fish and sponge filters to your tanks when you get back.

Well, for extra, i can pay a licensed vet to take the fish for the month. I know the vet personally, and he takes in sick fish all the time and does surgery on fish. I guess i'll do that.

For 7 tanks of fish? Jeeeeeeez that's gonna be an expensive bill. Does univeral healthcare in Canada cover fish as well? :ezpi_wink1:

No.

The auratus and lamp brichardi will outgrow the tank, so i may sell them.

My 10g salt, 20g community, 2g betta, 5.5g gourami, and the others will be boarded.

SCORE. I found a vet who for a small fee will come to my house and take care of my tanks daily. Someone will be at my place, so they can watch to make sure the vet isnt looting.
