I have a ten gallon tank with 2 bloodfin tetras and 5 tiger barbs. I recently bought the barbs at a walmart(A mistake that i regret doing). The barbs were doing well but now 4 of them are ganging up on one barb for some reason. They have been duking it out for an hour. I tried isolating them from eachother but it doesn't seem to work. Now the misfit barb they attacked is turning pale.

Is it dying?

Should I only have a few Barbs?

I really dont know wat to do, so please reply because i am in dire need!

Barbs do have shoals with a hierarchy. If there is a sick fish or some other problem they may turn on one of the other fish. You can try taking out the weak fish, although depending on the damage it might be too late.

Thanks for helping but what should i do with the misfit barb. I dont have another tank with me and i don't think that the barb will survive before i can get it.

Unfortunately your tank is too small for TBs.
You also need a few more so they can work it out.

IMO I would try to get rid of the Tiger Barbs. The tank is far to small for them. And you would need at least a 30g long, and a school of 10 plus.
