Found this on Craigslist for...are you ready for this?...$10!

Complete set-up, including tank, hood w/light, filter rated for a 20g. (I think it's a tetra brand), air pump, gravel, ornaments, and plants..for ten dollars! It was surprisingly clean, although I did scrub everything and bleach the tank. I also had to buy a new light bulb, but replaced them both, which were $1.99 each. So for those of you looking for tanks cheap, be patient and keep searching your local CL! I find it beneficial to search both the word 'aquarium' and 'fish tank', for each turns up semi-different results.

After a successful cycle, I've housed 1 male betta, and 6 zebra danios.

nice score! i recently found a 20 gallon, ready to run, for $20. if i hadn't just set up our new tank, i'd have been all over it.

question: do the danios nip at the betta???

I love yard sales and graigs list. lol I've found a 55, 20long, 2 5g, and a 2g and I paid under $100 for all of them.

question: do the danios nip at the betta???

Not at all. Never having a betta before, I did a bit of research and found the danios to be a perfect tank mate. Wanted to put a few red eyed tetras in but learned they can be a fin nipper. I actually wasn't think about a getting a betta until I set the tank up, then it just seemed like a perfect match. lol
