I just picked up two Albino Cory Cats last night and had a question about feeding. I got some Tetra Brand food for the catfish, it looks like green Advil pills. The fish are under a 1/2", how many of the tablets should I feed a day? I fed them one this morning.

1 every 2-3 days. In between feedings they will eat food off of the gravel.

HAHA... food off the gravel. I've got two Molly's in there. If there is ANYTHING resembling food, those two eat it immediately. I've got no clue how they eat so much but hey, my amonia levels are perfect!

Thanks for the feeding advice though, for there size I wasn't thinking that they'd be able to eat a whole lot. They're really interesting to watch though. I'm just curious if the gravel I have is gonna hurt there barbs at all? It's pretty small and I've been watching them scavenge around it and it doesn't seem to be effecting them.

As long as the gravel is relitively smooth (ie. no sharp points), they should be fine.

Lol, I want some gifts :( I may not be a stud...I mean, I'm not a dude...but every girl deserves a gift right?

Anyway, besides that, I just got a cory tonight, so I'm glad there was this info :)

Congrats on the corys. You will enjoy them, and they are quite possibly my favorite fish. As for the gifts, if i hadnt spent all of my money on the lottery (and lost to hobbs...) i would be more than happy to oblige, but im kinda in the hole, so.....lol

lol, that's ok Drummachine, I just figured that since you're such a stud, you might want to indulge me a little ;) lol. I only got one cory...do they appreciate the company of other cories?

Most definatly. They will do better with 4-6 or even more tankmates. At least get one more little bugger, so he can have a friend to goof off with.

Thanks Drum, I'll prob only get one more though...since it is a 10 gal and I'm using it for a fry tank, so I don't want to fill it up.

It seems to me...that corys, moreso than other schooling fish...need to be in larger groups...

...solitary cories are known to languish and die...

...the recommendation for any schooling fish is 6...having said that though...at least get 3 for a smaller tank...
