I've heard you can't keep goldfish with live plants. My tank is still cycling and I'm exploring stocking options. Do all goldfish eat plants? I have an assortment, short and tall, thin and thick leaved. Are there Any goldfish that won't eat Any plants? Preferably a more exotic type or types.

That is true only if the rest of their diet is not complete. If they get a proper diet they do not crave the nutrients that plants would provide. Take a look in my photobucket and search youtube for 'fishguy2727' or '150 planted goldfish' and you will see that it is VERY possible to have goldfish with live plants and both will truly thrive together.

Is this for the 30 long? In that size tank you can have two goldfish.

My goldfish gaius doesn't seem to eat amazon swords. He tries to eat java ferns, but doesn't like the taste. And he tears up water wisteria... he must like that lol
