It is hard to keep a pleco in a tank that has not been well established.
They need algae in the tank. You can grow some algae in a jar of water with some roundriver rocks and place it in a sunny window.Just feed a stone until its clean and replace it with another.
Keep a close eye on your perameters and do your water changes.
Don't forget their cucumbers and lettuce!

i bought a certain type of food for it recommended by the LFS.. hopefully that will keep that straight for awhile until algae do grow.. also do i just cut up cucumber and lettus and just drop it in the tank?
