Hope someone can tell me what plants these are. Like an idiot I didn't write it down. My son's art work in the back might lead to the aggressive behavior.

that IS the most original background! i think it's great. i may have to steal your idea when my daughter gets a little older. she'll be 3 in july and it would be real tough to get her to do a background for a 55gal :11:

I went through my sons backpack and found it the day I set up the aquarium. It seemed to fit the mood because it was snowing like heck outside. I think the aquarium was in reaction to the harsh winter we had this year. By mid January I was desperate to experience anything tropical.

are they tiger barbs i see?
tuger barbs and bettas dont mix, what size tank is it, sorry to be negative, but i wanted to make sure,
however, lovely tank, your betta is a nice color

Yeah I was just gonna say that. I saw that Tiger Barb in one pic, then a beta in the other. Didn't seem like that would work out to well. But maybe it is.
