I got these three at a pet shop where they just mixed all types of Africans in a big tank, so I have no idea what they are :[ And the one that almost looks redish is actually a light golden color, for some reason every picture I look made it look red. I'd really appreciate the help, thanks.

The bottom(3rd) pic is definately a Labeotropheus. With it having come out of a mixed tank , I would say Fulleborni. Im under the impression they are a bit more common than the Trewavasae. The second pic appears to be some sort of Hap , possibly Copadichromis. But I am not very educated on Africans outside of the mbuna species. However I do know a few people who could give you a proper ID. With your permission I will Email your pics to them.

The first one is a rusty cichlid I think. I am not your african guy, but pretty sure its one.

The head and face seem a little off to be Iodotropheus sprengerae. But then again its not a very clear shot of the fish so I could be wrong. The head slope and eye size looks a bit Aulonocara , but a pic from a different angle would help alot.

Thank you so much, yes yes you have permission to email the pictures. I got the feeling the first might have been a rusty but I didn't know the brown could vary so much because its really a beautiful gold, but it definitely has the purplish blue stomach area. But once again i really do appreciate your help guys :]

The fish in the second photo appears to be some sort of tropheops. In that regard the fish in the first pic bears great semblence, particularly in the shape of the head and mouth (there are many varieties and color morphs of tropheops, though it typically isn't a common fish to find). The fish in the 3rd pic is some sort of labeotropheus.

In the new pics , colorwise the first fish does look alot like a young Rusty cichlid. Red sev might have nailed it. But the head slope and the way the mouth is set is still throwing me off. Im confident the person I sent the pics to will be able to give you a positive ID. Im excited to see what you lucked up on!

Great Job! It does appear to be a Tropheops. Kaybee with the win!

This is the first time I've actually been a part of a forum and a site for things I love but all I have to say is you guys are awesome! I didn't realize how friendly and willing to help everyone was going to be. Your all great thank you very very much! I guess I'm going to have to shop at that pet shop more often, they have a great 5cichlid for $10 there juveniles but they have some really nice fish.

Youre welcome! I had high hopes for a positive ID , but unfortunately I never heard back from the person I sent the pics to. I believe kaybee got it right about them being Tropheops. Maybe after they get some size on them we can find out exactly which type.
