Terrified really. I think I will ask my doc for something so I don't have a heart attack. Anyone else deal with this? We want to go on a cruise and live in Iowa. It's not really THAT far to Miami. we could drive...........

Lol @ driving.

Just remember: The most dangerous part of your flight is the drive to the airport, by far. Planes very very rarely crash.
Have you ever flown before? I enjoy it but didnt think I would

Flown many times, even went to Italy, I handled that rather well, but I hate it worse each time.

I'm a frequent flyer, its enjoyable. Depending on what airline you book (jet blue has tv and games and music to watch that YOU control) it varies. IMO the worst part of the flight is take off and right after take off because the engines sound like they turn off, but they don't so no need to worry. As someone who is scared of flying, turbulance is going to be your worst problem.

Just take a deep breath and relax. Take sleeping pills right before they call for boarding, you'll be out the whole flight and won't even realize you were on a plane =]

I absolutely hate flying and am getting worse at it the older I get. I think I just scare myself because I know it's safer than driving. Imagine the difference between being in FL in 3 hours rather than in 2 days. I just suck it up and do it when I have to.

I think with me it's the claustrophobic that gets me more than the flight itself. I get a bit nuts when too much is around me.

With being afraid of flying. Would you take the chance to fly super sonic in a military jet? =p

I like flying, seems just like a car ride to me. I plan on getting my pilot's license when I'm 16, shortly after my driver's license. I can't even imagine how fun it would to be in control of a plane.

Scrap the liquid courage idea, Annie! My husband's escorted many people off airplanes, due to that, and the related costs are quite high. I'm not sure how bad your fear is, but maybe get a sedative from the doctor. I hate flying!!!...but that's due to ear problems...I have gone completely deaf on flights!:scry:
