I am making a 55g brackish tank with 1.010-1.012 sg. I dont want to spend a lot of money but i do want good stuff. I have substrate, plants and decor. we are building a stand. My only problem is finding a good filters and light for not a ton of money.
I have heard about buying some kind of light fixture from Lowes or Home depot. Is their a theory to this? Also what is a good filter that is not going to cost me a fortune?
the tank will be stocked with natives
naked goby
clown goby
striped blenny
skilletish
sailfin molly
etc.
substrate- crushed oyster shells
salt- Instant ocean most likely
Thanks in advance

A shop light works just fine, if you're sticking to low light plants.

As for filtration, 2 AC70s or AC50s would do good. You can get the 50's for $17 each here ([Only Registered Users Can See Links.]). And the 70's for $47 each here ([Only Registered Users Can See Links.]).

Shop lights it is. The only problem is that the link you gave me says the ac 50 is $17.00. but on the same website it says that its $38.00:confused: .

You have to put CK in the product code, instead of CD.
