After taking a break for a few weeks the BN's have spawned again. :l19: The male seems to feel secure enough to leave the clutch for a few minutes at feeding time, allowing me to get a couple pics:

I have several dozen 1.5" ABN juvies available, $3.50 each, and a few browns $2.50 each + shipping. PM if you want some.

Congrats! The eggs look larger than I thought they would be.

The eggs are about the size of air rifle BB's, and the wigglers are the same color when they hatch. After the yolk sac is absorbed it's possible to sort out the albino's from the browns.

The eggs are huge compared to your female!
Is she that small?

Great shot. Never been able to see the eggs when mine have spawned. I just gotten more and more BNs in the tanks ;-)

If you mean the small BN in the first pic, that's a fry from a previous spawn. The male is out for lunch, and the females don't hang around the shell unless they're about to spawn.

The male seems more relaxed with this round than he was with the previous spawns. He stays out longer than ever for food, and goes a bit further from the shell as well. After a couple minutes he's back on fanning duty though.
