Algae question...

There is algae on my sand which makes my tank look dirty....I was wondering if it was a good idea to vacum my sand on top? Or should I just leave it alone???? Also there are two rocks that are all green with algae...should I take them out and rinse them??? Thanks a lot for any help...

It's up to you. If you don't like it. remove it. To keep it from coming back, you have to figure out what is causing it. Lighting, too many nutrients in the water, overfeeding, or direct sunlight could all cause algae. The algae does not harm fish in any way, some even like it.
