I got this plant from an offline basin at work. It was growing in clear, still water roughly 2 feet deep and around 86 degrees F. Some was rooted. Some was floating. I took some home and rinsed it off. Then, I let it soak in water that I changed each day for 4 days.
It looks like Southern Naiad aka Bushy Pond Weed. There are other plants it looks like too. Southern Naiad though is native to north Texas and does grow at this time of year.
It's been in the tank for 24 hours now. The Betta really likes it.
