Finally woke up to platy fry!

I have been waiting and waiting for her to drop for over a week now. Every night I put her in the breeding trap, well sinceI coul see the fry eyes inside her.
Finally, I was going to give up. I thought she must just be tricking me, so I wasnt going to put her through another night in the breeding box. But she was in a easy netting position, I scooped her up and dumped her in.
I woke up late this morning and found 25 platy fry at the bottom of the box. I took the momma out, and took out the seperator. The fry look healthy, now at the top of the box.
I did find 3 undeveloped eggs though too, pretty cool, lol. You can see a couple in the pics...

Here they are, the others in the tank, especially the betta is trying to eat them! lol

Do you have a cycled fry tank?
You can buy liquid fry food or just give them crushed flakes.

I do not have anothier cycled tank! Thier going to have to stay in the breeder box for a while...but I am picking up 15 and 25 gallon tanks on tues or wed, they come with AC filters too, so should i get one of those going when I get them? I'll try too seed the new filters with media from the con tank, so how onlg after that should it take before i get them in there? oh and I'll steal the heater from the con tank too...

Crushed Flakes should work great for feeding them.

Awesome, thanks for the links.

And well I made some smashed egg yolk for the danio fry today, so I'll feed the platys mostly that today. And the danios are also starting to eat crushed flakes, so I'll give them all both for now.

I feed all my fry crushed flake and baby brine shrimp. works great

Get some shrimp pellets and throw in there. After they soften up the fry go crazy over them

I got them into a breeding net last wednesday, so I think their doing really great in there. I havent found any dead, and I counted 22 today, but theres prob 1 or 2 that I didnt see. I cant wait till I can let them out of the net!

Thanks guys! I thought I would post pics as they grow up...i'm doing the same for the danio fry, its crazy how diff they look.

Also I cant wait till they show more colouring and sexes! I hope it doesnt take too much longer...
