Petsmart sells a fish labeled Algae eating fish. They look like SAE but I keep hearing stuff like "hard to find true SAE's" what kind of fish are these cause I need a few and my LFS doesn't carry them. Does anyone know what fish I'm talking about in petsmart? is it a true SAE?

Go back a few months on this forum and find fishaliciouses thread on the subject and look it over real well. From what I gather there are about 3 kinds they sell at the shops and only one of them will truly eat much algae. That fish place that pet place in lancaster pa sells the true variety, check out there web site and see what they look like and what there sci name is.

I think one way to tell a TRUE SAE is to look for a black spot on the belly.

Mine are algae eating machines.
