Thanks guys :22: It is the perfect place to just go away from the real world, granted there is a campground nearby and quite a few other houses but...during the middle of the week not many people stay....thank deity :afro:

It is still secluded, the camground is a couple hundred yards away and the closest house is about 100 yards away and its not right on the bank so you cant see it for the trees.

You know Ive never actually been fishing :14:

I hope to hit some of the more difficult mountainous trails later this summer, hopefully by then Ill have my Nikon and can take some really great pics. The scenory in this part of VA is lovely, which is probably one of the main reasons Ive stayed here not to mention when ya shut the boat engines off life just sort of stands still on that lake. I have heard of some pretty big catfish, bass and bluegill in the lake but honestly Im so much of a fish person anything Id screw up and catch would wind up going home with me or id feel like crap putting a hook in its lip. :hmm3grin2orange:

Thanks for the comments everyone :22: The cabin in the woods thing has grown on me, I originally hated its rustic vibe.

If Jenn starts fishing she'll end up with a local bio-type tank with bass and bluegills, crayfish, and local plants...

Wow that is amazing, just remember u helped me so much with freshwater tanks but when it comes to freshwater fishing I got all the answers u need. U should try it u can catch a nice bass and relese it without even hurting it.

lol, I may try to fish one day. Ive watched Rivermosters enough to know catfish like areas of cross current...we have a couple of those....and I know that other random fish like to hang out around that sunken tree. I think we have a pole in the basement to :22:

Jenn, from the looks of the Lake, I'd bet there's some sizable large mouth bass, small mouth bass, crappy, and various species of catfish in the Lake waters.
Go to Walmart or other bargain priced store and treat yourself to one of these.

I'd go for 8lbs test mono line, some plastic bass worms, weedless hooks, and some crawlers. Tie yourself off to the main mast in case you hook into something big and don't forget the killians. Now that's a good time. But please be kind and do hook and release. If the big ones swallow the hook, well then there's diner. :ssmile: ENJOY. thumbs2: Let me know when you land your first 5 pounder and I'll be down to join you!

I had a dream last night that I caught a bull shark...and then I caught a huge red devil. :14: No Ive never done acid...

Dad has a few fishing rods...I may take one of those and try my luck, see how it goes. Maybe go next week, you say I can use plastic bass worms....great I just dont think I could do real ones. :hmm3grin2orange:

Thanks Taurus:22:

Oh yeah, the plastic\rubbery ones that are purple will work great on bass. Just make sure you put it on a weedless hook so you don't get snagged in weeds, wood, or other structure. Let me see if I can find a link for weedless hooks. :22:

K..just look for Eagle Claw 249W weedless hooks. Pick up a pack of size 6 and size 4.

Here's what they look like.

Check out the plastic worms while your there.
