I have a bunch of babies in my 10 gallon with 3 females. There is a big bunch of java moss in there, will they get some nutrients from the moss, I've heard it grows some type of critters that are small enough for them to eat.

They will pick at the moss and small bits of food that get in there. It will also give them great places to hide.
Congrats on the fry! thumbs2:

Congrats. I love my wee platys! They are fun fish!
I have to admit to being a bit jealous as I struggle with Java moss - ferns OK, moss... URGHHH.
Jaster's right, they will peck at it and it's provides cover, but a good nutritional start is vital - try get some flakes (that you will have to powder with your fingers) with spirulina - A great immune booster for livebearers, and 99% digestible!

Thanks you all, it seems I have alot less than yesterday morning but I figure they are hiding in the java moss. I see about half dozen but I'm sure there are alot more hiding.

Thought about putting some of the baby platy's in my 29 gallon, I got 14 pygmy cory's and 4 small SAE's and a small red shrimp, I don't know what it's called necessarily but it's about as long as the pygmy cory's and the pet store, That Pet Place, That Fish Place in Lancaster Ohio said that it'd get larger, they were 3.99 each, they had alot of females and males in a tank and I got one of the females that has eggs under it's tail, the manager there said that the shrimp would be nice with the Pygmy cory's.

The babies are doing great, I seem them around the top of the water when I feed them and the females--the females don't seem to bother them much. I first will feed the females and then put some finely ground up food in 2 places in the tank so to split up the babies from the females. I can count about 15 but I'm sure there is alot more hidden in the java moss.

Could I put the baby cory's in a 29 gallon with 14 pygmy cory's, 4 small SAE's and 1 female cherry shrimp until the babies get a little larger?
