Will the Ram eat these 1" max fish? I've read on the comparison charts that Danios are good with Dwarf Cichlids, but this is a new species..??
Celestial Pearl Danio is also called Galaxy Rasbora.

I'm thinking, large school of ~20 celestial pearls and 1 ram

I agree with Algenco. IMO I would only keep the CPD on their own.
A species only tank works best with these fish.

your ram will do excellent with a school of 6 tetra or rasboras --danios are too high energy. they will disturb the ram, plus outcompete the ram for food. forcing you to overfeed, increaseing your water changes.
