So, I bought 4 gold mystery snails for my divided crowntail tank, and was wondering if I could safely move them? Like, now that all the algae is gone, I worry that they will not get enough food, so could I move one to another 10 gallon that has algae in it too? I was thinking I would have to be careful acclimating it, as the tank is at work, and has a different water chemistry. But do you think it would stress the fish too much?

I was also thinking of putting one in my moms pond to see how it fairs before getting some specifically for the pond. Pond has several types of goldfish...

Not thinking of moving and moving snails around, but probably should not have gotten 4 for a 10 gallon, so was thinking of keeping 2 in the betta tank, one for each side, and then one in the 10 gallon at work and one in the pond. If they all fair well they will stay there?

Snails ,fish and plants all need tyo be acclimated.
They do need food as well as some algae!
They may do well in the pond during summer months but what about Winter?

If you move them to cycling tank they are going to die most likely.

About the diet in reference to algae wafers -
Grind them up with a pestle and mortar, add a little calcium powder (drugstore) and water and freeze. Chip a little piece (wafer size) for every 6 or so snails daily, or every other day is fine as long as they are finding it and consuming it quickly (may be slow going the first few days)

Took it from your other mystery thread.

NG is right, if you just give the mystery snails algae, their shells are going to deteriorate, algae is not going to do it for them.

They fact that they are demolishing algae in your ten means they are hungry, algae is not their favorite they only eat it when theres no real food around.

On the pond about cold temps:

Mystery Snails can live in pretty low temperatures. At lower temps though..

The will live a lot longer, and be a lot less active. So they consume less and poop less
And they also may not breed, its hit or miss though they really only have one mission and thats to make baby snails. Your job is to remove the egg clutches before they hatch lol

Also taken from your other thread. I wouldnt leave them out there once the water is below the mid 60's. Depending on how big the goldfish are, they may abuse the snails or try to eat them
