The decision i made yesterday was a really bad one, since it resulted to the bettas death after extensive fin and body damage.I'm extremely puzzled though. I don't know who, appart from myself, is responcible for the death. I saw the loaches nibling at the dead body a bit, however they didn't hurt it,not once, during the day. also i fed them well before i turned the lights on. I'm afraid that all this time it could have been the asian bumblebee catfish. the dead fish was found next to the catfishes lair plus both attacks were made during the night and the catfish is nocturnal( in fact all three clown loaches squeeze into a corner about an hour before i turn the light off and sleep(?)). what do you think?

I think we need as much information as possible to make an educated guess. Tank size and stocking list are good places to start.

I agree with more info on the tank and it's inhabitants the better it will be to root out who is guilty.
