well 2 weeks ago my betta got fin nipped(almost entirely) by three clown loaches.I immediatelty removed the betta and placed it in a bowl. Now, 2 weeks after, his fins have regained 1/3 of their former length. I really hate having fish in bowls so i was wondering, can i reintroduce the betta to the tank?

I wouldn't, if it happens once, i bet it will happen again. I would try to look into a 5 gallon for the fish. I am glad you don't like keeping fish in bowls. I would do 50% w/c a day, and add a airstone to the bowl untill you can get the right play down.

Agreed, I wouldn't put him back in.. the clown loaches don't understand whats wrong with it, so they will probably do it again.

If you want to put the neons in the tank, I would have a 10gal setup, with 1 female betta, with 4-5 neons. Then some otos for cleanup crew.

i was told by someone in the forum that one of the reasons the loaches attacked was hunger. i was feeding them once every 2 days as instructed. What if i fed them properly? it might work

You could try it, I would feed your loaches everyday. When you first introduce the fish, make sure to be home for hours and watch the fish.

Bettas like hiding places too, so you might want to make sure there is one that will fit the betta but be too small for the clown loaches.

no chance. right now the betta and the loaches are about the same size.
i was thinking that now that he doesn't have those lushious fins of his, he wouldn't be very appealing to the loaches. so perhaps they'll get used to him till the fins grow back

well, if it doesn't work out, I have successfully kept Betta(s) with:
platys, mollies, cherry barbs, neon tetras, plecos, snails, ghost shrimp and um....swordtails? I know there was another one, but I can't remember what?

Up it to a 10 and do a betta with some cherry barbs/tetras or platys and some snails!
