You guys come up with some pretty good ideas and I could use one to keep my power cord dry. It sits alongside my tanks and I am constantly slopping water and getting them wet.
I was actually considering sliding them into large zip lock bags. I know you have better ideas.

Like, a power strip? or just a cord?

When Aquarium equipment is plugged in you should have a loop in the cord, (the cord running down then looped back up to a point higher than top of tank, this gives a point for water to drip off cord away from electrical socket)

I think all of the instructions on appliances call it a "drip loop"

get some washcloths or a small towel and tie it around the cord with some twine!

Some of my cords are too short for the loop thing. I am thinking now of those turkey roasting bags. They're larger and the whole thing could just slide into it. Just a bit of insurance here.
I am forever changing water and the darned tube flips out the the tank.

Do you mean a connection between the plug and an extension cord?
If so, try running a bead of silicon between the two plugs before joining them.

I mean my power strip that everything plugs into. That's what I slop the water on.

Yikes! I have mine mounted to the back middle column of my stand, as high as it can go. that makes a drip loop automatically for all the cords.
