Hey Everyone,
I just stocked my 10 gallon two days ago with some platies an mollys. I was wondering what would be a good next step. I'm not thinking fish, but plants or something that makes bubbles or anything? I've currently got two fake plants, two rocks, an a log in the tank with some natural color rocks. Any suggestions on new things for the tank?

A nice background, some fake plants, airstone + air pump. All are good ideas :)

it might be easier to make suggestions if we saw it. Is there any way you could maybe post a picture?

Did you cycle the tank before adding the fish? If not, I would recommend nothing else until you have a cycle. Even with a cycled tank, stocking should start out slow with just a very few once a week. You can't put much in a tank gallon so be careful.

Of course the tank cycled, took me 6 weeks, but I did it. Added the fish an the waters doing fine. The air stone and pump sounds like a good idea. Do the backgrounds attach to the back of the tank or do you have to put them on the inside? An I will try to get a picture up soon.

Scenes attach to back of tank. Glad you cycled first. I just got one of those round air stones. I put it in and piled it up with stones. I like it and you just see the pile of stone with bubbles coming out.

I'm pretty interested in the Air Stone. Just was wondering what exactly it does? Is it benefiting the tank at all or is it simply for looks? I tried to do a little research on it but everything I found was on Marine tanks.

airstones put plenty of oxygen into the water for the little fishies...the more oxygen, the happier they are. there is just a lot of decorative things you can do with the bubbles, like hobbs mentioned. not recommended for a planted tank tho, depletes the co2 they need, unless you just run in at night.
