When I move, I will be taking a very large square tank. Don't have the exact measurements but my guess its either a 60-90 gallon tank. What cool, unique fish could live in here? I want something that isn't exactly normal and stands out which is cool because this might be my ''show'' tank next to the bar in the basement. All ideas welcome :22: :help:

Dimensions (even approximate) will help since this will effect what fish will and will not work really well.

It really depends on what you like. I would probably do fancy goldfish, platies, and plants. African cichlids could also look really cool in there.

Its just a giant square pretty much. Don't have the tank handy but my guess is about 24 by 24 by 24-36.

What are you thinking of so far?

Really open to anything.

Are there any type of miniture freshwater rays? With the tank having a large footprint, I think it would be so cool to have a ray, but I don't know if there are any that don't get to big.

But other then that, I'm really open to any option possible lol, just want something different

A 24x24x24 foot print is no where near large enough for a ray!
Not sure how many gallons that is,probably a 60. A 6ft long would be pushing it.

Ya didn't know if there were any smaller ones that stayed around 6 inches, guess not lol. Only reason why I asked was because it was a stubby box and not the normal rectangle lol.

Any ideas though post as I have no clue what to do

Well with square tanks you are better suited to fish which don't school up and down the length of the tank. So fish Like Rainbows are out.

Other options would be sedentary fish like Cardinal Tetra, Glow Light Tetras, Emperor Tetras, Diamond Tetras, Peacock Gobys, Corys, Ottocinclus, or some of the small Pleco types, or Bristle Nose.

Other ideas would be some of the small South American Cichlids.

Just some ideas.

If it's a show tank... how much are you willing to spend on it? lol

I think there'd be alot to say for a cube like that, heavily planted with a couple beautiful plecos (queen arabesque are nice), a large school of rummynose or cardinals and a pair of stunning (and expensive... pricey fish always get people more interested:hmm3grin2orange: )

or you could get a small group of s. american leaffish and a couple brochis of some sort with leaf litter, be pretty cool.

Yeah No. I had wikipedi'd it and it says it gets to a max length of 25inches. So your tank is 24 inches square roughly, I dont think so. Wikipedia also says a minimum tank size of 75 gallons, but i think a lot will have to do with its footprint. I'd say no.

I'm trying to remember the tank as best I could, and when I do remember it, I remember it being rather large, it might be bigger then 24 inches, might possibly be 36 by 24 by 24 but I'm not sure so I put 24x24x24 just to be sure.

I want something different to go in there. Not neons or corys or cichlids(they eat to much lol). I just don't really know what to put in there grr.

Sounds like it would be perfect for a sw tank!

LOL, honestly thats what I had planed originally. Pile all the liverock up in my the middle of the tank but the main issue there is money. I'm in highschool still, with only a summer time job (lifeguarding) and since its my first year with the new company I'm only a fill in, and not guaranteed work lol

I know the feeling very well. Have you thought about seeing if there is a fish club near you. At times they have things you want cheap, some times free.
