:scry: my newest goldfish, is my juvie black moor. he is about 1.5 inches long (body length) has become very listless, spending most of the day sitting on the bottom or wedged into my plastic plants. this has been going on for 24 hours. my other three fish in the tank, are very active and curious, they come right up for food EVERY time i walk by. parameters are ok, and i just added another filter since it seemed like the water clarity was lacking.
as best as i could tell there are no outward signs of disease or illness. i am worried he may be giving up the ghost, and so early. dont know what help there is right now, but i sure someone out there feels my pain. :scry:

How did you acclimate the fish? It sounds like the moor is experiencing a chemistry shock, which means the pH and hardness differs greatly from that in its bag. Floating the bag for 15 minutes only accounts for temperature; it does nothing for pH and hardness.

Hurried acclimation costs many fish their lives.

i say newest, but he has been in the tank for about three weeks now. he had been all over the place until yesterday. he is the only one who wont eat from my hand but he would till come up for dinner. i was worried about him eating, but he still looks full, so i dont know. really hoping he pulls through it.

well i guess talking about it jinxed him...between the time that i had been on the computer earlier and just now when i went to go to bed, it was over for him. :scry: admitedly, he wasnt my favorite, but i think he was the prettiest. he was totally black, and all of his fins were lovely shaped.
still couldnt find anything wrong. nothing for it now, other than hope it wasnt contagious, what ever it was.
