Algae wafer for Saltwater?

I had some algae wafers that I used to use for a pleco. i decided to throw one in my SW tank to see if my brittle would like it. Well not even a minute of it being in there, he knew something had entered the tank and began investigating. Somehow, after only a couple minutes, went clear across the tank, RAN down a rock and found it wedged between a rock and the sand. Began chowing down.

Then I started thinking...Was this ok to feed him? It advertised like its for freshwater but there shouldnt be any harm using it in SW right?

p.s. Brittle stars are seriously one of the most amazing things I have ever watched. I HIGHLY recommend them to people who can house them.

Careful how highly you recommend those things. Some of them are ok, but there are also a number of species of brittle star that are nasty predators. I almost lost a clown fish to one at one point because I had the wrong species. Needless to say, I now stay with Serpent stars for my tanks.

The algae wafer shouldn't be a problem, those usually contain high amounts of spirulina. I wouldn't make it a habit of feeding it those though. I personally used shrimp pellets when I had mine.

Oh? I was under the impression that the green BS was the only species that was a problem... What other ones are?
