View Full Version : A Monster ate my FRY !!!!!

So I go into the Lab (aka: the garage), to find I have 2 Glowlight fry left - after successfully hatching around 200.

This is what I found in the tank...

It's a dragonfly larvae and I have no idea how it got in there as it was a new hatching setup... At this stage it's unable to fly, so assume it crawled in and had a few sushi snacks...

This one is less than 2cm long, but capable of eathing fish up to 50% longer that it!

I did not see that one coming!

Do you harvest anything from outside?
That sucks, sorry for your losses.

Yes, plants and greenwater, but in this case no.

10g tank with lid. Anyway the good news is that they are about ready to go again. I have to me more careful about this!

Well atleast you can't blame yourself for the other 198, better keep a close eye on the 2 remaining. Good luck the next time around.

Cichlid or oscar lol.

I found a tick on me, put it in the tank the green terror and jack dempsey destroyed it

I don't have fish big enough to eat this chap - I took him (or her) down the the stream near my house... I just couldn't bring myself to tramp on it (especially since he/she is 200 of my fry fatter!!!) LOL

My jack dempsey wasn't big enough for the tick, they just picked away at it till it had no legs and just sat on the bottom, I think my bichir took care of it after lol
