Hi guys,
I cannot get my driftwood to look right in my tank...I basically have one long piece, one short piece, and one curly piece. Here is a picture of the whole tank...

Here is a picture of the woods alone...

Pardon my camera phone quality...
The internal filters are temporary. I had two spare ones and I don't want to use my new AC50 before my trip...
EDIT: The big piece of rock was there temporarily to hold down the curly piece...the other two pieces are water-logged.
Any ideas will be appreciated, thank you!

I think it looks great like that! lol
Just keep moving them around until you find your perfect placement!

They look fine, although I'm not sure about the light stones etc... If you got darker decor and pebbles they may fit better with the wood? Then your fish would really stand out too!
Just a thought?

Ahh. That might be the issue. Thanks!! I will try some darker color stones and see!! Plus that's why I had black substrate/background...because I wanted my fish's color to pop.
Thanks guys!

Looks like you've got things in hand but I really like the way it looks now! thumbs2:
If you're having trouble getting the wood to stay where you want, you can always adhere it to some slate with some screws or silicone. Once on the slate you can just bury it in the substrate and it'll stay put rather well.
Looks great with the logs the way they are. IMO a bit of Anubis in the joins of the logs where they al connect would be great.
Other wise it looks great. IMO I would get darker rocks though.

Hehe Thank you!!
I am going away for a week...and if the wood's still not water logged when I get back, I will use the fishline trick.

Thank you! I am actually thinking about that! I didn't know if I was gonna go with moss, fern, or anubis...but I have one week to think about.
Thank you!

We are so often our own worst critic. I think the tank looks great , but I'd be doing the same as you trying to get it "just right". Funny how something like a piece of wood can cause such frustration isn't it?

Here's the way I place my driftwood. I drop it gently into the tank and were ever and how ever it lands, I just tell myself that it's perfect. Keeps my forehead from wrinkling. :22:

Lol! I couldn't stop playing around with it until I left! I am currently in Puerto Rico =D
But yeah...I am just glad that there is no fish in the tank yet, and I can play around with the decor without having to worry about disturbing them. It is frustrating! I just can't get the "look" right!!
Roar, hopefully the fish tank fairy will get it straightened out when I get back in a week!

Looks good, maybe move the stack of rocks further to the left corner in front of those plants.
