how big of a tank would be needed to hold these?

Thats not even the problem - I think DAFs will snack on shrimps or betta would beat the $|-|iT out of them :)

I'd go with a 10G and put more shrimp in. I know for a fact they do fine with other fish that are not big enough to eat them. I don't know about DAFs though! Plant your tank well and you should be fine.

A 2.5g tank would be way to small for these fish. The betta would be okay I guess. But IMO and IME 5 gallon is really a better size to keep Bettas in and bigger is better.

Now with the frogs the fish and shrimp would not get on with each other at all. You would get problems. I would not get the frog.

Or just keep the frogs and nothing else.

There really is not tank that would work for this combination.

Our 3 gallon tank is heavily planted with Eco-complete substrate. It has two DAFs, one male VT Betta, and a TON of snails. They all get along for the most part. The betta beats on the frogs once in a while but they just brush him off and ignore him. I'm pretty sure the DAFs would eat the shrimp. The Betta MIGHT or MIGHT NOT... depends on his personality. Sancho, my Betta, got along great with his shrimp until one of 'em tried to eat his tail, then he went homicidal and killed all three shrimp that were in with him.
