For a really quick and cheap DIY, buy some pieces of thin foam from a dollar store, and just tape them to the back of your tank. Black looks great on my 20g, and it cost 1.00 to make the background. Quick and easy

it literally took 3 minutes to do. Just cut a few pieces, and its all done. The black really brings out the tetras colors.

i'll try to post a pic. The next thing i want to do is make a black background for my 10g, and cut out stars, then tape yellow behind the black so it looks like theres yellow stars. The only thing is the previous owners of the tank glued a storebought background to the tank.

well, im going to try something for the 20g. Im going to cut out a logo into the black, then put another color behind like the stars. hope it works.

i am using a medium "sea blueish green" set of pillow shams. they look pretty nice, and since no one uses shams.. i just found the set laying in the linen closet.. haha
