I feel like I'm over the hill so often that I don't think I'll have enough energy to make it over the hill when I do get to be over the hill!!

Midlife crisis occurs when you look around and wonder where the heck you are in life, how the heck did you get here, and how the heck do you get out. Then you go out and buy some alcohol to ponder these questions and evaluate your life..... proceed to drink a 6-, 12-pack, case of beer or bottle(s) of wine or pint /5th of liquor, or whatever alcohol you bought .....yes you must at least be of legal drinking age and gone thru the obligatory "I'm legal to party!" growing phase to even qualify for being in midlife.... pass out and then wake up the next morning and realize you can't party like you used to!!! And then you look around and wonder where the heck are you, how the heck did you get here, and how the heck do you get out. That's a midlife crisis.

Been there, done that, now the panic is setting in. It doesnt help that my fiance is 22 and I feel like I have to compete with all the young hotties his own age.

Mid-life crisis in your 20s - early 30s? You guys need to realise that as you get into your 30s you start to realise just how much your 20s sucked :hmm3grin2orange: Your 30s are the best years of your life. I've only got 2 years of them left unfortunately and am dreading the next milestone, I don't think 40 is going to sit too well with me :hmm3grin2orange:

At 30 you think you have been there and done that. At 60 you know that won't happen until you are dead and buried.

Life does go faster as the years go by so you have to be aware of what each day holds for you and embrace it.

An old German once said it all - Too soon oldt, too late schmart!:thumb:

I just turned 37. The past seven years have flown by at a blinding speed. That's the only thing I truly hate about getting older. The time seems to pass quicker. I still remember my 20's with a lot of clarity. Seems like it was only a year or two back.

I also agree that your 30's are the prime of your life. You still look pretty good. You usually have a decent career and your finances are OK, so you have a little extra to spend on the finer things in life. You usually have a marriage, a house, kids, stability, etc. Not too shabby of a place to be.

Your 40's are when the looks start going downhill. That seems to be the prime mid-life crisis age bracket.

I have my vote in and the way things sound from the "wiser generation" lol I can't wait to turn 30 because I agree my 20's have sucked so far....I have 3yrs to go But now that I am seeing this in writing I dunno...I guess things have been good up until a few months ago and are getting back on track so who knows..guess we just have to live one day at a time.

Well for me, I think I went to bed at 43 and when I woke up I was 63. I have no idea where the past 20 went.

And then you say to yourself.......Hell, I probably only have 10 left. sheesh I haven't done anything yet. LOL

I'm only 24, but after 2 tours to Iraq and almost 7 years in the Army i'm losing my hair, my back is slowly depreciating and I feel about 34!

You know?
Age means nothing. It's all what you make it and how you feel.

I dreaded to turn 30, but the 30's were twice as awesome as my 20's.
Then came 40 and panic! But, there was no need for panic.
My 40's were twice as good as my 30's.
Now I am 55.
I still look good. I just got a recording contract and play guitar every day.
I work out. I am an outdoorsman, and I maintain 12 acres of land.

Basically, I do everything I did when I was in my 20's, except better.

I am 38, with the majority I reckon aging is in the mind, I am young at mind and heart (though the body sometimes protests LOL)

My hat off to your on your 2 tours jweintraub:22:

You've seen more and done more, Jon, than many have in their entire lifetime. It's time Iraq took care of their own country and our guys come home where they belong.

Cichlidman, love your outlook and glad things are going well for you and you can feel that way.

Dude, as a vet of the first Gulf War, I can tell you that the Combat Arms or direct combat support jobs will age you prematurely. The physical training is good, but the stress is rough. Especially if you have a family. I got lucky and ended my career at Redstone Arsenal in an office job. Cushy!

Kenyth, I'm actually headed to Restone Arsenal next month for BNCOC. I know what you mean about aging prematurely, when people ask my age, they can never believe i'm only 24.

Guests can only read the threads and can not reply to them, including voting. I'm assuming so many are checking this thread because they would like to know the age groups before joining.
