If you use the right meds they work great.
So does a daily water change until the fish is better.
What is your water change schedule like!
What are your perameters?

you need to be changing a lot more water. i'd be doing 50% or more every few days

Check your perameters before you do a water change!
Daily is recommended!
Are you serious about helping your fish?Let us know if you get around to it.

if your serious about putting them down I'd do it with a 12gauge and the oscar in 5 gallon bucket. i don't see much pain in disintegration. but just cause you failed at caring for the fish doesn't mean you should kill it.

I don't think you should put them down. Continue water changes, test the water, medicate, etc. If you're absolutely ready to get rid of them and know anything about catching/gutting fish there should be a vein in most, if not all, fish that automatically kills them when cut. I've just seen it done, not had any experience. I still don't think you should put them down, though. :scry:

This is frustrating. You want help for your fish, you're spending money on medication. But what you need is a good water test kit so you can start diagnosing your issue properly rather than firring medications at your poor fish which is no doubt causing discomfort to the rest of the fish in the tank.
