sorry i guess there isnt an edit option??
i noticed my white goldfish also has a red bump on its tail...the red bump on its top also seems to have something white coming out of it..
also..my other goldfish is acting very strange and is looking like hes on the brink of death....hes swims quickly and eradically...he has a whiteish film on him...and his fins and tail seem to be deteriorating...i added a little salt to the aquarium because i think it might be a parasite...any other suggestions?? i dont think he'll make it past the night :scry:

its been years since i have kept golds, but if i remember correctly, the fish with the red spot with the white coming out sounds like anchor worms.
you can tell because in couple days this white strand will be hanging off the fish. if that is the case you will have to remove them by hand [tweezers].
the other condition sounds a little like a condition caused when the water becomes too alkaline. without more info these are just guesses. the fish, however, are obviousely stressed. what is water temp? these are cool water fish and like water in the 60's f/ 18c
what is tank size?
how many fish?
how long has tank been running?
what are levels of temp,ammonia,nitrites,nitrates,ph?
this info is very important, the rest of us at AC would be happy to help but can't unless we know. good luck
