I have to apologise for soem of my comments/replies on thread [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]

I'm actually a good guy that wants to help...

I kinda offended senior forum members (not good for a "guppy") and just wanted to say these people deserve more respect than I gave them (not intentionally, you understand).

I didn't get the impression that insults were the intent, you are obviously excited about the possibilities the product can bring

I agree, and would bet you were surprised by the responses.

I was surprised the responses were as calm as they were to be honest.

I don't think you offended anyone, but when someone has a counterpoint or just plan disagrees - it doesn't mean they need lecturing

But you've gained a lot of credibility in my book

So was I. I'm glad for you, wetpet, that the responses where mild.

I agree to the responses being more mild than I thought.

Just try not to defend everything you say and make a million responses. That annoys people.

I'm just glad various members weren't there.

That would have been a blood bath.

Good on you for apologising! It's difficult sometimes to portray things like passion and excitement in text without it being misconstrued.

I agree just slow down, re-read and double check info before you post it and things will go a lot smoother for you. I do it always, sometimes its easy to offend when we do not mean to.

Dont worry very few people around here hold grudges, big of you to apologize

Kaz, no calling people out :hmm3grin2orange:
I edited the offensive parts out!

Lets just say there are specific people who stand by their points morefirmly than others. Not that that is a bad quality it's just that such defensive posts make these specific members respond sharply back and can cause minor combustions inside their minds.

Which I repeat is not a bad quality, they simply know their stuff and are pround of their knowledge.

Lol no, seriously Im glad i didnt come to mind as argumentative, but I feel everyone at AC will stand by their opinions to an extent. We are all hardheaded but most of us not unreachable or unreasonable :hmm3grin2orange:

Oh, I thought a mod did it. Good for you.

William and I have a bad habit of simultaneously editing/ deleting of my offensive posts. I change the text and moments later he deletes it and informs via PM.

I would've prefered Specific members but whatev.

I edit my posts quite often due to my filter slipping off every now and again.
(I use infliction, tone of voice and odd sounds to speak IRL and most of friends know not to take anything I say seriously)

I find it weird because every time I call somebody out I get a finger wave by the mods but like three rep boosts. So I can't tell which positive reinforcement to follow.:sconfused:

I didn't understand why you kept ragging on the dye point though.

The processes are the same, injections

There are other methods for dying fishies, but they dont work nearly as well from what I have seen.

Overall, the motivation for injections is the same (if its not to help a particular species recover from endangerment like suggested) its to sell more fish, whether injecting dyes or hormones.

I dont feel that injecting fish is something that needs to be done or should be condoned except under extreme circumstances. Commerical breeding and dying of fish do not quality, In my humble opinion.

Example. I give my dog her rabies shots so that she does not contract rabies.
I would not give her a shot to make her more attractive, her puppies more attractive, her produce more puppies or produce puppies faster. I dont feel the ends justifies the means.

Some may disagree, and I encourage them to voice their opinions on the matter as well. Everyone is entitled an opinion, and I think if we all remember that minor incidents like today can be avoided fairly easily.

As for rep, I will give rep to a user that disagrees with me or anyone but does it tactfully, which is most important. :D

It's a battle of wits between myself and Will.

Though with him being the admin it's hard to win. (Though getting editor position gives me hope.)

Turk said some stuff but I don't want to quote all of it.

IDK, for me beacuse it increases the fertility of the children, as a one time procedure I think it has merit. Plus It should be stressed as a last resort. Like, going through every effort to get the species to breed before using the drugs.

With respect to everyone, this thread was graciously posted by Wetpets to give an apology and I think if the discussion is going to continue and go over similar ground again, I think it should be done in the other thread if need be.

Sorry for interrupting.

The processes are the same, injections...

Look, I'm against dying of fish: and I have to disagree (REP +1?) that the processes are the same. I deliver one dose to the dorsal muscle of the fish, where dyed fish are repeatedly 'stabbed'... like comparing a pinprick to multiple gunshot wounds. The hormone is a synthesised denominator of the fish's biology, where dye is very often (if not always) toxic.

I have difficult species that do not breed readily. The AquaSpawn is a last resort where I just can't get the final breeding cue right. (6 pairs breeding Angels, glowlights, 5 varieties of guppy, columbians, misc livebearers and rainbows - all bred naturally).

A side effect (if you like) of the hormone is that any species injected will subsequently spawn naturally without injection and after the hormone dissapates from the body (72 hours).

Also, to be clear I did post to get your opinions, and boy did I! I apreciate the points of view - as I was initially as against this product as many of you, but have since seen the good it can do.

Boils down to responsibility.

(EDIT) - aw hell. should have put this in the other thread!
