Sorry I haven't been around much everyone. My wife and I experienced the birth of our daughter Sunday March 4th at 9:44 PM. She was 6lbs 10oz and was 19 inches long. Everyone is doing really good. Just wanted to let everyone know what was going on.

In other news I also installed my Classic 2217 which is unbelievably incredible and has cleared my tank right up. It is crystal clear now and my oscars are enjoying the great view.

Well I hope all is well with everyone.

Congrats on the little one! I'm getting close myself to having to take some time off of this thing. My wife is due on June 15th with our first child (boy) and she's going with no pain killers/epidural. I'm in for such a good time! :D

What were you using before the Eheim? How much of a difference did it make? I currently have a HOB Marineland 400 and it copes okay on my 70g, but I wouldn't mind some overfiltration and definately something QUIETER!!!

Congrats again!!

Drumachine- I had a little girl...so I don't think oscar would fit to well....Thanks for the suggestion though thumbs2:

Hobbs- You know I suggested that to my wife but she didn't go for it. She is the bad guy. LOL The new Filter is working awesome by the way!

Britishguy- Thanks so much! You are instore for some real fun coming up. Let me tell you something though. Having a baby changes your outlook on life completely. I am excited for you. There is nothing greater then being a father. This is my wife and my's first child as well. You are going to enjoy it. Just say goodbye to sleep forever. That is my advice.
Before my Eheim 2217 I was using 2 HOB filters. A Aqua Clear 110 and a Aqua Clear 60. They did alright but I always had cloudyness in my tank. With the Eheim 2217...MAN it makes a difference. It is 1000 times quieter too. I was thinking about hooking the 110 back up but I don't know if I could handle the noise now that I have heard what it is like without it.

EVERYONE- Thanks so much! My wife and I are definately enjoying parenthood. It is the best and we appreciate all the congratualtions we have gotten. Maybe we should start a new thread for parenting advice.....

I Have some parenting advice for you both, The best you will ever get...
Take all that advice everyone else gives you, take it into consideration, then throw it all away and do what works best for you and your wife!thumbs2:
Your going to hear SO much advice, everything from the mundane, to the compleatly bizzare! But at the same time, If you have a question or concern, ask people you can trust, that have kids themselves, and who seem to be successful at raising kids.
Dont ever be afraid to pm me if you have any question. my son had many heatlh problems and almost died a couple times. we spent more time in the hospital, than at home for the first 6 months of his life. My son is now 8 and I'll be the first to admit I havent been a perfect mom, NOBODY is, but my son is pretty darn awsome!!!
I wish you both the biggest congradulations! Your in for a HECK of a ride!:19: :malelovies: :luxlove:

BIG CONGRATULATIONS ON THE NEW BABY!!! I have 2 daughters and although there are days when I wish I didn't they don't out weigh the days I am glad I do.
As mentioned, be cautious about advice and do what works best. I tried to follow the "redirect" "timeout" and all of the other new wave crap that they offer now for parenting because I was afraid I would go over board if I disclipined due to having been "overly disclipined" by my mother and ended up with a 2 yr old hellion. I decided to step back to the old days and use that diaper padded butt for a few swats every now and then and now have a wonderful 11 yr old to show for it!
