Is it advisable to mix platy (molly) fishes with other fishes? If so, which other fish will get along with them?

Hey,
IMO I see no trouble mixing them. But one thing Mollies and Platis like different water conditions.
As for fish to mix them with Tetras, Rasboras, Guppies, Corys.
One thing to watch is that if you have a male female ration with Mollies or Platys they do breed very fast, and over populate the tank. So it pays to have something to eat up some of the young. So a Dwarf Gourami would help there.

Livebearers (mollys, platys, guppies) are peaceful community fish that get along with well with most others. I would advise against putting known fin nippers, tiger barbs for example, in with them. Mollys are a bit more sensitive to the cycle, so the tank needs to be fully cycled before adding them.

The livebearers are actually cool water fish. They do not need a heater and many people find that they do better without a heater. Others find that they do at least as well in warmer water. They seem to be like goldfish, fine at any temperature.
They will breed very well, which provides food for any fish in the tank.
All of the livebearers are pretty herbivorous/algivorous, so many small feedings throughout the day is ideal.
I have never had any problems with compatibility with any of them except mollies nipping at fancy goldfish.

We have Platties, Mollies, Danios, Tetras, Rasboras, a Beta and an Chinese Algae Eater in a planted 55 gallon. None of them are over 2 inches. They get along fine.
+1 on waiting for a tank to establish before adding Mollies. We lost 3 in the first month and had to cure 1 of pop-eye. The Mollies are the only fish in the tank that we have had real problems with. We now have 2 Mollies, added the last 1 a few weeks ago. They are both doing great.

Platys in my experience while peaceful are not "peaceful" when it comes to feeding. They will routinely bully timid feeders away from food. I am having a real tough time getting my corys food since the platys will nip at the corys to keep them away. Only my rams would stand up to them. In fact my rams at times will guard food from the platys and let the corys eat.

I have plattys, mollys, guppys, rummys, cardinal neons, and a couple BN in my main tank and they all get along great. I have tons and tons places for them all to call their own.

We have Platys, Mollies, Rasboras, Flame Tetras, a Cory, and Oto's in a tank and everyone gets along great. I think have the sailfin mollies helps keep the fry population down as well. IMO it is a great community tank with lots of movement, no agression even though it is not a calm tank at all.
