I am trying to build an aquarium in a somewhat strange place, where there will unfortuanately be no access to any electricity. So my question is, how am I going to filter the tank? All the filtration methods i know oof require electricity?
thx.

Can't have filtration without it, either.

Where is it located exactly? Solar panels for filtration and aeration maybe? lol.

First thing I thought off was solar panels also. Might be worth looking at if you're only powering lighting and a filter.

Some tanks don't even use filtration but have a lot of plants. Some people also just change out 90% of the water a day and that's their filter.

Hmm. Well, I think I'm just going to have to change the water really often, or get a fish that doesnt need a lot of filtration. Thanks anyway!

Where exactly is this tank going to be located? Do you live in a warm area? Without a heater, you are really limited in what you can get unless your tank water can stay at a constant 75 or so. Not having a filter really limits your fauna to shrimp (which is good because most shrimp can take lower temps), unless you can commit to doing a 25-50% water change every day or two

5 white clouds in a 55 gal tank wil need almost no filtration and they don't like heaters.

Well it would seem rather silly to get a 55 gallon tank with no heater, lights, filtration just to keep 5 white clouds now doesn't it :)
I am thinking this is a small project, as I'm sure he could run an extension cord to whereever the tank is if he spent money on a big tank.

Solar panels are becoming so mainstream that you can get out of the box versions for your camper or cottage set-up (in Canada, you can find these in Canadian Tire). Some are designed to attach to an optional generator to store energy. Of course, you may wish to choose fish that are hardier and can at least come up for air should aeration become a problem when your filter runs out of power - Betta, Gouramis, Mystery or Apple snails. And all in a well planted aquarium.
Just a suggestion.
