I'd really need a side veiw to ID it, but since it was labeled as a shark, I'm thinking an albino form of one of the more common sharks... maybe ID shark?

What kind of tank is that?
Its different!
They look like ID sharks but without a side veiw its impossible to be sure.
Does your tank have a glass front?

Thats a real interesting tank you have there! Have you a pic of the whole tank?
Watch those guys don't get to spooked. They are very fast swimmers and may kill themselves swimming into the wall of the tank.Tall plants around the sides may help slow them down.

I cannot produce side pic of my fish as there is no glass on side walls.!!
I will tell you in brief about my aquarium. It happend due to my core interest in aquarium fishes, when i made my home, i digged around 5 feet X 5 feet X 5 feet inside my house and i put swimming pool tiles inside it for finish.
The aquarium is deep enough (5 feet) and interesting thing is that its open on top, a grilled structure by concrete on top jst to avoid any theives entering house!!!!..
We get lots of rain here, (I am from Kerala, India). So the rain water directly enters to the tank, but it willnot be flooded. I have put over flow pipes for caution. Some Pics are attached. These photos are taken on the the inaugration occasion. Now the fishes are big.. I will post the pics soon as now my camera fell down and broke optics.!!
Fishes I have includes, Albino - pair, Karp - pair, red tail sharks - white and black pair, bala shark - pair, sucker - black and golden - pair etc etc.
I havent put any real plants, only plastic plants so far.

Our friend from India described the fish as aggressive, which ID sharks are not. They also appear to sit on or near the bottom of the tank, while ID sharks swim in the water column and never stop moving. If our friend can describe them more fully, including length, height, finnage shape and dispersion, barbel length and number, I can probably figure out the species. Even a side-view sketch of one of the catfish would be helpful.

About my ID fish,
Its active and aggressive, but it likes to stay on the deep down corner of the tank most of the times.
They have occupied a corner side of the tank, where we can find them most of the times.
They move very fast and very muscular (When we take them in hand, we can feel it).
They have very poor eye vision. When we feed food, they ran here and there vigourously, but never been able to eat the food, unless there is something left after others had.
They grow up very fast, those was just my finger size when i bought it from the shop, now they have grown up to the size of my arm, in 6 months.
They move in pair always. They are friendly, unless we intrude in their territory.
Even, these types of ID fishes i see in aquarium, mostly have blood coming from their mouth, coz they hit the walls of the glass!!.
This pair i got, coz i dont know, the seller wants to get rid of it, and he gav me at a very low price. It had no defects, i cross checked, expect where damn aggressive, and thats the reason i tuk those.

Thanks. But i really wanted to convey the nature of my Iredescent Shark Fish.
There is no help i wanted more, rather than identifying it.
I will post more details and pictures of my tank later.
Cheers.. and thanks for the comments..

Most likely they are Albino Channel Catfish 'Ictalurus punctatus' (pond fish) Looks a bit like them to me but it really is hard to tell with only a top view.
