ok over the weekend i observed one of my clown plecos on it's side in it's regular hiding spot. does anyone find this odd?

Nope, clowns are infamous for scaring owners like that. They are, after all, "clowns." Put your hand into the tank and move towards it. I guarentee it will speed off with a laugh and a wink :)

oh yea it did and yes it scared the hell of me for a while. i started doing all kinds of water tests. i knew it wasn't dead as it was still flipping it's fins but i didn't know if anything was wrong, it had never done it before. glad to know it's normal. thanks.

yea it's looks cool now that i know it's normal. i won't be so jumpy next it does something off the wall.

I also have a suckermouth catfish in the same tank as my 2 clowns, and they have grown a very tight freindship, I often see the 2 clowns lying under a log asleep with the catfish lying across the top of them both.

Clown loaches love to do that sort of thing to us owners also, I have seen mine completely on their back with fins in the air just like a dog with his paws up waiting to be scratched on the belly:laugh1blue:

good info i guess i'll be on the lookout for when my yoyo's do something weird.
