I'm getting a tank roughly that size within a week or two, and I will be making it a heavily planted tank with a group of 8 betta coccinas, in addition to some snails. I have another tank the same size with a trio of betta smaragdinas, also heavily planted.

I have a bunch of guppys in mine. I just made it fun silly looking tank and let my kids pick out a couple decorations for it. I use the fry to feed my Angels.

or you could just keep it around for a QT/hospital tank... (but thats not fun... smart but not fun...lol)

I have a ten gallon with Oscar in it!
I also added a few guppies to give the tank some movement! lol
I also added a small handful of hornswort for the top.
Its a fun little tank!
Oscar is a beta!lol

A school of 6 cory plus 8-10 of small fish like harlequin rasbora or neon tetra would look nice. A betta with the corys would be nice too. Thats actually what I am doing in my 10.

I hope those are Dwarf Corys!
The others get too big for at ten! JMO!

I'd make it into a sweet cherry shrimp tank.

My 29g is too large and my 2.5g seems too small to have a nice shrimp tank.

I'd load that thing up with java moss and go to town. Then start selling or giving away the shrimp to family and friends who'd want some.

What other kind of fish do you have? If you have meat eaters, set up the tank with some live-bearers and feed the fry to the other fish. Your fish will love you for it.

If not I'd go for a heavily planted betta tank. Bettas have quite the personality when you get them out of those pathetic little cups.

I like the idea of a planted 10g tank with 10 cardinal tetras. It would be peaceful and pleasing to the eye.

Or 5 cardinals and 5 neons, since they occupy different water levels.

With my 10 I'm going to attempt to breed some bettas lol Or a massive shrimp tank. How many shrimp could you even fit in a 10 gallon?
