stocking question

i have a 45 gal goldfish tank right now, and it seems kinda empty. inhabitants right now are: 1 very small black moor, 1 small redcap oranda, 2 medium orandas, and one betta. i know that the fancies can get quite large, though it seems they shouldnt outgrow my tank. getting to my question, could i add a few more small fancies in there until i can afford to get another aquarium set up? i or should i just be patient (which is REALLY hard for me)? if i did add a few more, it would not be permanant, just fill my tank out until they all grow up, and/or can get a new tank.
