View Full Version : What would you do if you didn't have fish?

So for the past few days, I have been very bored and feeling a little anxious (kind of like I was forgetting to do something), and I figured it out. I miss my fish. I used to spend almost all evening watching them. Coming home to feed them after work was the highlight of my day. I would even get up fairly early on the weekends just so they wouldn't have to wait for breakfast.

I still have my betta, so I haven't gone completely crazy yet, but he'll be going to his new home this week.

What the hell am I going to do with myself? How would you pass your time? It's making me sad because my fish were basically what kept me happy. I won't have anything to take care of anymore.

:(

I'd have to start moving my furniture to make up for the lull in my life. No tanks to move means something else gets moved. LOL Now I'm getting so many tanks I can't move the furniture anywhere but out the door.

Yep, something else in the house would have to be done. Furniture here has already been moved out the door to make room, I now have a taller, narrower printer stand and the kids have a narrower desk to allow room to open up to move a loveseat into the room! The loveseat started out as part of our living room set but had to be re-homed for fishtank room!

I am reduced to being able to open just one side of my double closet now. It's a closet I don't use much and I actually thought of removing the doors and putting a tank in there. LOL

If I didn't have fish, then I'd have an extra 300 bucks to spend on college tuition :)

Come to think of it, I probably wouldn't have gotten into this hobby if I had known what was going to happen (in terms of money spent - money that I can't afford to spend lol - as well as time invested - which I don't mind as much). But now that I've started, there's simply no going back. Plans for this summer = 55g planted tank lolololol

I used to have 8 tanks. I found when I cut back to one, I had week-ends free. I have lizards in my 55g, but they aren't as much work as keeping a fish tank. The first few weeks I was at a loss for what to do. Eventually I started investing that time in a planted tank and now I am thinking of upgrading to a bigger tank. I have a really bad case of MTS and I thought I could handle just having one tank. I was wrong. It's only been a few months since I took the fish out of the 55g and I am already back up to 2 tanks. :)
