treat it with one-drop ich meds and treat the main tank to kill the adult parasites. treat for 1 week

cocoa gave you good advice. There are several ICK meds out there.
When you see ICK gone from the fish it doesn't mean they are gone. Here's the lifespan of ICK which will better help you to understand.

yeah. The adults will crawl around for a host.
There is ALWAYS ich in the tank, but fish can only catch it when their immune system is down, ie stress.

Good to know! I always thought when the waterborne parasites died, that was the end of that.

You should invest in a quarantine tank, as it sounds like you are getting infected fish. Either that or get them from a store that has very healthy fish, (ie no dead ones lying around in ANY of the tanks)

10g is good for most fish. It can double as a hospital tank.
