I was just wondering if anyone know how long it takes Boesmani rainbows to get to around 3"? I have 5 in my tank that are about 1-1/2". I've had them for about 4 months now and they don't seem to have gotten much bigger. I have seen one or two in the LFS's large tanks that were impressive at 3"+. I do have 4 Goyder River bows that are 3"+ and I was just trying to compare the ages between the 2 species.

It could be 2 years for them to reach maturity.

Thank you. So it stands to reason that my trifasciatas are at least that old. Is their life expectancy 5+?

Growth rate depends on space, food, tank condition and tankmates. You should get at least eight to 10 years out of the larger Rainbow species.

I have some in my 55 gallon with my tetra's. They took forever to [/URL] even "] ([Only Registered Users Can See Links.]) grow enough to sex but are finally in a growth "spurt". I have a couple acting like "big boys" already but it's probably all in their head.

My female will not be smiling for long. It appears I have one girl and 7 boys.

Yep agree with all of the above...my Salmons seem to be growing quicker than my Bosies and I have had them roughly the same time period... 3 months or so
