LFS said it was, but the leaves don't look right...

yup thats what its called at walmart,Hygrophilia difformis
it looks that way in your picture because its either being grown under very low light or you just got it.In which case it is because that is its emersed form.Grown submerged the leaves become more pinnate more so with higher light.

Yep.


Its possible that those leaves will die-off and regular leaves will replace them in time.
