im starting a new tank:goldfish: 10 gal with a few live bearers a few tetras but the walls are coated in lime build up [e[Only Registered Users Can See Links.]] so is there a safe lime remover to use with live bearers bottom feeders and tetras:help: ps fish are not in tank or purchased, tank is still empty

Hello. You should be able to remove the lime scale using regular white vinegar. Wet the tank down with the vinegar and let it sit for about 15 minutes, then use hot water to wipe it down. Repeat if necessary. Rinse and dry well, and it should be good to go.

Fill it up with warm water and a bit of bleach, let it sit for a while.Use a razor blade and mildscouring pad for dishes and give it a good scrub.Rinse real well.
It should clean up.
Vinegar does work too.

I've used vinegar and lemons to remove minerals from the glass. If I'm starting with a completely empty tank sometimes I'll just use Windex and make sure I rinse really well before filling the tank for a cycle.

As long as it is properly rinsed and dried it should be fine.
Rinsed a few times over to get rid of all trace.
