So, i have a small red ear slider (about 2 inches)

I was cleaning his tank up, and i took out one of the plants to clean it.
The plant has one of those magnetic pieces to hold it to the bottom of the tank,
and the magnet on the plant base itself has been sealed in by a thin rubber coating.

Well, the rubber coating apparently got damaged while i was cleaning the plant
and now the magnet is completely exposed.

Will the bare metal part of the magnet cause problems with the water?

i know that some metals will hurt your fish, but i dont know if that one will. you could always get some aquarium silicone like the stuff you seal your tanks with and re-seal the magnet.

Why not just take out the magnet so there is no chance???
