:help:
I think our gourami is sick, :scry: I first noticed yesterday that his stomach was really bloated up, and he is starting to look thin everywhere else? He's also starting to turn a greyish color, and his stipes are fading? He isn't as active as he used to be either. He's still eating but not like he used to.
Our tank has been set up for over 2 months now,
nitrates:30, nitrites:0, ammonia:0
I do between 30% and 50% weekly water changes
Stocking is in my sig.
I'm hoping it's not this but, do you think it could be Dwarf Gourami Iridovirus (DGIV)?
I found this while researching online:
Dwarf gourami iridovirus is apparently specific to the dwarf gourami (Colisa lalia), including the various fancy varieties of the species, such as neon gouramis and sunset gouramis. Infected fish develop a variety of symptoms, including loss of color, decrease in activity and appetite, the appearance of sores and lesions on the body, abdominal swelling and finally death. This fish disease is highly contagious, completely untreatable and invariably fatal.
I highlighted the symptoms he is showing in red, I haven't seen any sores or lesions on him.
Should I take him out of the tank?
I'll try to get some pics tonight but he is very camra shy so it's really tough to get good ones of him, the second he sees the camra he hides.
Thanks everyone!
