I was looking at the side of my 20g tank, which just has LR and a CUC in it so far. I noticed very small white "things" crawling around on the glass. I was wondering if anyone knows what they are. They are so small taking a picture of them with my camera would be impossible, they crawl around and there are a lot of them. Are they safe for the tank?

Planaria worms, they are there typically due to over feeding. They do not harm the fish or anything.

Sorry, just read the article. They arnt "sliding" like worms, more like crawling in a darting fashion. They start at point A and craw very fast to point B, ect..

From what i saw online pods are too big to be these. These look like what pods would eat (just in terms of size). they are about the width of an eye lash, they look (from what i can see) like pure white little bugs

I had this stuff in my tank a long time ago that I could not ID. I called it living dust, but it was on the top of my water. I got rid of them by doing water changes. But it did not appear that they did any harm either.

I have about 4 gallons of salt mixing right now that I am about to change. I'm not too worried about getting rid of them though, hopeully they will become snail food. Looking really close they seem to have antenna, and tails. Its really hard to make out detail even with 20/20 vision

Don't worry about finding little "live" things in your SW tank. This is a good thing. If they are there, it means that your tank is growing.

I'm not too worried, just a little curious. I am glad to see my little aquarium growing, as it just got over its diatom bloom. I can't wait for my coraline algea to start spreading, and additions of corals!

These definitely sound like some form of pod. Don't forget that copepods come in many different shapes and sizes.

Nothing to worry about
