Hey. I am alowd to get a 29 gallon bow front tank. It is probaly going to look great. So I want some nice looking fish. I was hoping for a school of 4 skunk loaches. Will they be compatible with neon tetras? Anybody have any experience with them?

I wouldn't mix them with neon tetras, they're one of the more aggressive loach species and tend to bully smaller fish IME.

If you want a loach for your 29 gallon, I'd suggest either zebra (striata), they're fairly peaceful or sids, but sids are known to be difficult and in some cases they'll pick on tank mates (aside from costing 14+ bucks a peice). Oh, and kuhli loaches, a school of them would get along great with neon tetras.

I agree. The skunks tend to e great Bullies. Maybe if you want you could turn this new tank into a Species only tank with the Skunks?

As for Alexs suggestions I am with it. You may even want to look at Dwarf Checker-Board Loaches.

IMO you could get away with 4-5 of these fish.
